HALLOWEEN SPECIAL - Seductive Vampire Makeup

Hey everyone!

It's time for look number three in my Halloween series! This time, I wanted to create something more wearable and somewhat less out there than the first two looks. Something a bit more pretty-scary instead of gross-scary. It didn't take me long to decide what that was going to be, since I've been wanting to try this one for a while now ánd because this might be a look I would wear to a Halloween party myself ..
A vampire! And not just a vampire, but a sexy, sultry vampire with nice full lips and sultry smokey eyes. I'm especially in love with the lips, they're so intense! And the great thing is that they look pretty fancy and time-consuming to make, but it actually takes about two minutes to make these. The eyes are also very easy and aren't that different from the ones I did in my gory zombie look, except that they're a bit more neat and blended in this one. All in all, if you wish to look scary, but still somewhat attractive, this is the look for you! Read on to see how I achieved it!

This look doesn't require a lot of explaining, since it's pretty much a basic smokey eye with dark lips. However, there are a few tips I can give you to make the end result extra vampy:

  • Use a foundation that is a few shades lighter than your own skin, preferably one with neutral undertones (have you ever seen a yellow or a pink vampire? :)
  • Don't bother using concealer (except maybe for huge pimples or spots); you want to look like you haven't slept in a while.
  • Use an ashy contouring color to give your face some shape. You can go pretty far with this; use it around the entire face, mainly focusing it around the temples and the hollows of your cheeks.
  • I didn't use any blush, but if you do, make sure you don't place it on the apples of your cheeks. Instead, put it right above your cheek contour and use a dark plum color that goes well with the rest of the look.

Here I gave myself some vampire teeth and a crazy eyecolor with Photoshop, to give you an impression
of how cool this look would be with fake teeth and colored contacts!

  • For the eyes, I only used cream products, starting with a caramel colored concealer, finishing with a black eye pencil and messing around with about six more colors in between, ranging from plums, to reds, to dark browns to greys. To prevent it from looking too messy, work your way from light to dark and focus the darker colors only where you would normally place your eyeshadows when making a smokey eye. You can tell by the pictures that I blended the caramel colored concealer way down, even further than my 'natural' dark circles to make the eyes look more tired, but I kept the plums and reds somewhat close to my lashline, to still keep everything looking nice and sultry.
  • Since I have pretty light eyebrows, I decided to sort if 'dye' them black for this look. To do so, I filled them in pretty heavily with a black eye pencil and then I swept a wet makeup wipe over them a few times to get rid of any excess product on the skin, leaving black hairs behind. This is a good way to darken the brows without them looking drawn on.
  • I also used a brow gel to comb my brow hairs up. Instantly makes you look fierce.

Maybe I should've payed a little more attention to what earrings I would wear if I were a vampire ..
Well, I guess there's a first for everything, even religious vampires!

  • Then for my favorite part: the lips! This is so easy guys, and it looks super cool. All I did was line my lips with a black eye pencil - make sure to use a creamy one that blends well -, and partially coloring them in, leaving an opening in the center. Then take a nice, deep red lipstick (a plum or dark purple would look awesome too) and apply it directly from the tube. Apply a nice amount of pressure and you'll see that the eye pencil will instantly blend together with the lipstick, leaving you with a super cool black-to-red gradient. Top it off with a red gloss in the center of your lips, press them together one last time, and there's your vampy blood-red lip!
  • I added some fake blood (red food coloring) to the corner of my mouth. Just because. :) If, like me, you're using food coloring (or anything else that won't kill you when you eat it), feel free to put some on your teeth as well to make it look like you just had your nextdoor neighbour for dinner.

Now go and turn yourself into a sexy vampire! Hope you enjoyed this one guys!

Which Halloween look would you like to see next?!

Love,
Linde
